the shimmer effect isn't bad, but it kinda detracts from the immersiveness of immersive portals. Would be cool to have an option to just be able to see clearly through the portal, as is possible with the nether portals & end portals, and the portal gun. :)

Sorry for the late answer.

This is already a supported feature, just add all portal blocks to the none colour in the config.
